How to Detect and Adjust the Oblique Movement of Low Flatbed Semi Trailer
The low flatbed semi trailer has no rails on the vehicle-mounted part and it is widely used mainly for medium and long-distance freight transportation. The frame of the low flatbed semi trailer has a through-beam structure, and the longitudinal beam adopts a straight and live gooseneck type. The height of the plate ranges from 400mm to 550mm, and the longitudinal beams are welded by automatic submerged arc welding. The frame is shot blasted, and the beam penetrates the longitudinal beam and is welded as a whole. It is composed of a series of dry plate spring and suspension support with a reasonable structure. With strong rigidity and strength, it is used to support the load and slow the impact.
The low flatbed semi trailer is one of the commonly used semi trailers, and it is commonly used with good effect. However, many problems need to be paid attention to when driving a low flatbed semi trailer. The following will talk about how the low flatbed semi trailer moves in an oblique direction.
1. The reason of the oblique movement of the low flatbed semi trailer
The skew of the trailer is mainly due to the unequal distance between the center of the traction pin and the corresponding points on both sides of the trailer axle (the three points are not an isosceles triangle). If it is out of tolerance, it may cause abnormal tire wear (sawtooth phenomenon).
2. Detection and adjustment method
(1) Park the low flatbed semi trailer on a level road without braking.
(2) Taking a point on the inner surface of the front side of the wheel hub of the front axle and a point on each of the left and right symmetrical sides.
(3) Measuring the distance to the above two points based on the center of the traction pin, which requires 3mm of L1-L2i. If it is out of tolerance, please adjust the front axle live tie rod until it meets the deviation requirements.
(4) Before measurement, please check the measured value at the corresponding point of the rear axle hub, which requires 2mm of 181-821. If it is out of tolerance, please adjust the rear axle live tie rod to make the front and rear axles parallel until it meets the deviation requirements.
(5) Tighten the fastening bolts on the front and rear movable tie rods.
(6) Stop at the same place without braking for about one kilometer after adjustment. And review the dimensions, the adjustment can be regarded as successful if there is no change.
(7) During the adjustment process, the lever should be in working condition. That is to say, the bearing of the trailer moves when the lever is turned, and the adjustment function of the level is normal.
